          COURSE OVERVIEW

          ISO 45001 is the new international standard for occupational health and safety and has replaced OHSAS 18001 providing organisations with an opportunity to improve their occupational health and safety management system in line with their business objectives.

          This five-day highly interactive IRCA Certified Lead Auditor training course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to perform first, second and third-party audits of occupational health and safety management systems against ISO 45001, in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17021.

          The course will enable you to understand the new ISO 45001:2018 standard requirements, and to utilise its requirements to understand, manage and maintain internal and external Health and Safety Management duties and performance obligations.

          This course covers the management systems approach to identifying and managing health and safety risks, the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and how to plan, complete and report the audit of an entire OHSMS.

          Those attending this course are expected to have knowledge of the following:

          • The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
          • The purpose and benefits of an OH&S management system
          • Commonly used OH&S terms and definitions as given in ISO 45001
          • The core elements of a management system and the interrelationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review and continuous improvement.
          • A basic knowledge of managing OH&S through hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control and compliance with legal and other requirements
          • A basic awareness of common examples of relevant national and local OH&S legislation and requirements

          CERTIFICATION

          Delegates successfully completing the course and the examination, will be awarded an IRCA registered certificate.

          Delegates who successfully complete this IRCA Certified ISO 45001:2018 Lead Auditor (OHSMS) Training course (within the five years prior to making an application to become a certificated auditor) will satisfy the training requirements for initial certification as an IRCA OHSMS auditor.
