          COURSE OVERVIEW

          Transition to Aerospace Experienced Auditor (AEA)

          The A3 9100 Aerospace Industry Specific Course (IAQG sanctioned) and Exam course (IAQG Reference: A3) is designed for those who need a detailed understanding of the aerospace sector to enable successful transition to AEA auditor status. An auditor not yet authenticated as an AEA shall be able to satisfy the requirements of BS EN 9104-003:2010 and EN 9104-003:2010 (E) upon successful completion of this course.

          Attendees who successfully complete the exam will be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the aerospace industry, regulatory requirements, and related industry-specific best practices and procedures including FAIR, Risk Management, Calibration control, Key Characteristics, FOD control, Special Processes, Product safety (Ethical Behaviour) and other elements.

          The highly interactive course features class quizzes, group and individual activities, and a written examination.

          WHO SHOULD ATTEND

          • Individuals who wish to work as a 3rd party auditor for a certification body.

          PREREQUISITES

          Those attending this course are expected to have knowledge of the following:

          • A thorough knowledge of the latest edition of AS9100 is considered to be essential.

          • An overview of AS/EN9100:2009 requirements
          • An overview of the National Aviation Authority roles, responsibilities, and regulations, and how to obtain additional information
          • Principles of Military aerospace requirements and regulations, and how to obtain additional information
          • An overview of government space organization roles, responsibilities, and regulations, and how to obtain additional information
          • An overview of airworthiness and aviation safety requirements, and how to obtain additional information
          • Appreciation of design, development, verification, and validation processes specific to the aerospace industry
          • Understanding of Aerospace Quality Management Systems – using the process approach
          • Understanding of EASA/FAR 21 (QAP)
          • Understanding of first article inspection
          • Understanding of how to control customer supplied products
          • Manage non-conforming materials
          • Satisfy the requirements of BS EN 9104-003:2010 (F)
          • Recognise the relevance and needs of Airworthiness and Safety requirements
          • Define Material Traceability requirements
          • Understand control key characteristics
          • Articulate the flow-down of AQMS requirements
          • Support a Foreign Object and Debris (FOD) programme
          • Understand the requirements of calibration systems

          • The process of FAI (first article inspection) in line with AS/EN9102A
          • Aerospace material traceability requirements and accountability systems

          • Quality requirements ‘flow down’ of requirements
          • Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention program requirements

          • Acceptance authority media and stamp control
          • Special processes – including Nadcap

          CERTIFICATION & EXAM

          Evidence of an attendees achievements for all learning objectives is measured through a combination of quizzes, continuous evaluation throughout the duration of the course, plus a written and multiple-choice answer examination. The examination duration is 1½ hours  with a pass-mark of 70%.

          An IAQG (International Aerospace Quality Group) sanctioned certificate containing the IAQG logos is presented to each student who successfully completes the course and passes the examination.
